First round of competition was played tonight.
Buffalo’s defeated Magic 12 games to 6
Vikings defeated Vipers 13 games to 5
Radicals defeated Infernos 11 games to 7
Chaos defeated Sharks 11 games to 7
2 game winners:
Steven Maynard, Maddie Mcgregor, Adam Gilbert, Justin Hutchesson, Ethan Harding, Tim Tang, Sarah Pilven, Travis Sweet, Mark Drentlaw, Sirinat Sweet, Andrew Schubert, Evan Marga Steele, Rhys Edwards Robin Pellen and Nick Sweet.
Winners were Thor’s Hammers 9 matches to 5 against Re-Wards. The team of Robin Pellen, Nathan Schubert, Cameron Beal and Travis Sweet took control of the game early and Re-Wards, Ben Newman, Gary Fox, Ward Freeman and David Fox just weren’t able to bridge the gap.
MIA won a keenly fought contest against The Money Train, 8 games to 6. Regular members Rylan Ward and David Harris-Jones were joined by fill-in’s Rhys Edwards and Matthew Scott. With most games going 4 sets the team of Henry Dyall, Tim Tang, Tony Bowditch and Brad Errock could count themselves a little unlucky that they couldn’t snare a few extra set to take the win.
This contest was the game of the night with the decision being decided by sets. Allsorts and Animals battled through the night for supremacy and with the games equal at 7 all the count of the sets started. The Animals, Doug Megaw, Jono Lange, Dylan McCarthy and Tasja Barelds were announced winners 28 games to 26 with the Allsorts lamenting missed opportunities. Lorraine Halleday and Grant Sims were joined by fill-in’s Andrew Schubert and Liam Moulden but they just fell agonisingly short.
